Drew came to Real Radio - one of the quasi-monopolistic Paxson family of Orlando stations - from the Rollins College radio station, where he started in radio with a three-hour alternative music show. After a stint as a "Real Music Weekend" DJ, he became Ed Tyll's producer full-time. He met Jim Philips, and soon moved to his program - the Philips Phile - as the producer/engineer. Soon after that, in November of 1995, he had his own show: the overnights.
Drew, who's been in Orlando for the past 18 years, is "hardly ever recognized" around town. "That's what I love about radio - the anonymity," he says. Doing promotions and the like only "tear down" the audience's idea of what he looks like. That "mystique" is part of radio, he says.
Drew's ultimate goal is "to do a nationally syndicated show." For now, though, he enjoys what he does: "Bored is something I rarely get." WTKS and his program director give him complete freedom as to show topics; the show is his in every sense. Drew even selects all of the music re-joiners.
Drew's show, overall, is for anyone awake late at night who wants really interesting entertainment, which I think he provides flawlessly.
All certainly is Garabo, Big Papa.

I spend much of my time deconstructing my surroundings by writing. Other
diversions: crossing the line, sucking down caffeine-laced
carbonated beverages, pen fighting with the staff of the paper I edit, listening intensely to
SHE 100.3, and analyzing my world with an overuse of superlatives. Also
find me here.
