Not long after Saturday night drinking turns to Sunday morning crashing, hangovers begin to sprout up all across Orlando. By noon on Sunday, those hangover victims are looking for the magic formula to return to humanity. Coffee, water, pain killers, and food are often part of the mix, but I've found the most effective weapon against the hangover is ... more alcohol!
If you're a subscriber to the "Bloody Marys and coffee" cure, Harold & Maude's on Wall Street Plaza has the fix you're looking for. Jump into their "Bloody Mary Bar" to build your own combo, from simple and fiery hot to something that looks more like a salad with vodka dressing. $4.25 sets you up with your first, and each of the next drinks are $0.50 cheaper. Yes, that means your sixth is $1.75 (but by that point you're probably toast for the day).
With a glass of ice and vodka, heave yourself to the Bloody Mary Bar, stocked with goodies from the traditional hot sauces, celery and peppers to more exotic ingrediants like heart of palm, shrimp and asparagus. Grab yourself a cup of coffee ($1.00), Cafe au Lait ($1.75) or hot tea ($1.00) to wash down the Tylenol, and you're in business.
The ambiance of Harold & Maude's (filled with the warm sounds of Bob Marley on my last visit) minus the normal crowds make a great place to bring a paper and hang out as you come back to your senses. Once your system has woken up, dig into one of chef Ben's made-to-order omelettes ($4.25), served steaming hot with a bagel or muffin.
Feeling better?
