What clubs do you see having the biggest venues?

Embassy seems to be getting all the big tour acts. As for bigger venues, that's the one. For one place being influential-

-Yeah, I was going to ask what clubs do you see having the most progressive venues?

I have to say Sapphire only because they try to tackle every single genre that they could possibly accommodate. Whether folk, or Rock, or Acid Jazz, it's all there.

Rave - live,or dying?

I see it evening out right now. But I'm not going to say it's expanding rapidly. I see an incredibly loyal audience sticking with it.

What local bands should people keep their eye on?

I couldn't say. We carry so many in the store it's hard to peg just one.

What musical movement do you find moving the fastest on a national basis?

POLKA! *laughs*

POLKA!?

I'm kidding! The thing that has experienced the big leapfrog in the last year to two years is Acid Jazz. Even very legitimate performers like Branford Marsales are putting together an acid jazz band called 'Buckshot Lafunk', which is going to have a second album soon. This shows the form moving from a novelty to a legitimate endeavor for learned musicians.

Do you think musicians should look to Orlando as a place to come and designate as their home base so to speak?

I can say this - Orlando needs those musicians, more than those musicians need Orlando...In conclusion I can quote Smokey Robinson. He was asked about how it was that Berry Gordy found so much talent in the Detroit area, to make Motown into such a major player. Robinson commented that every major city has the talent in it, you just have to have someone that's willing to open their ears and find it.
