Finding enjoyable live music in Orlando has proven, over the past 4 years, to
be a difficult task. If I didn't love live bands so much, I may have given up
by now. With this history, I was not exactly overjoyed at the prospect of
hearing another group of locals abuse their instruments. But to prove me wrong,
Auradjinn's performance at the Liquid Cellar on the 24th was a welcome
surprise.
The five man band pulled me in immediately with their high energy,
groove-driven rock. The original songs were engaging, creative, and
enthusiastically played. Energy poured from the band throughout the night, even
while covering bands like Pink Floyd and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The members
are all long time musicians (with at least 10 years on their respective
instruments), and their tightness attests to the time they've spent playing
together (4 years).
I spoke with Tim Cox, guitarist for the band, who modestly explained, "Our
music is technical yet highly intense. You have to listen closely to get the
most out of it." Auradjinn will be playing The Loaded Hog on March 5th,
Rielley's on the 10th and Connies Sports Bar on the 21st and 22nd. The members
of Auradjinnh are: Jet Zaleski -
bass, lead vocals, and keys; Chuck Roberts - guitar; Tim Cox - guitar; Brett
Berry - Drums; and Moe Rogers on sax.

Born in 1880 to a coal miner and an alligator wrestler, I came to Orlando
after the great depression to take part in the new media revolution that was
television. Now, some 50 years later, I am still active in new media via The
Slant. Der wiesel ist in der flub!.
