Artist - Martha Rich - originally from Philadelphia, Martha lived the typical, suburban life... To cope with divorce, fate lead her to an illustration class and to join the world of art. She graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design and is currently based in Pasadena obsessively painting undergarments, lobsters, and Loretta Lynn.

Pushing on Polaroids

A unique "painterly effect" is achieved by the manipulation of Polaroid SX70 Time Zero film. During the development process the image can be manipulated by applying pressure to the mylar envelope that encases the image. This pressure and manipulation will cause changes as the chemicals are forming the image.
