They introduced us to Beavis and Butthead and South Park, and now they bring us another round of raunchy, racy, and absurd animation: Spike and Mike's Sick & Twisted Animation Festival 1998 is definitely not for the faint of heart. Beginning with the staple "No Neck Joe", the festival offers a range of topics from a public service music video on smoking to the closing "Sloaches Fun House" - a claymation segment filled with oral sex and excrement. Speaking of sex and excrement, the festival has plenty o' bodily function humor, and if you have an aversion to penises or cum (I sure don't), this might not be the movie for you.

However, I happen to believe that Spike and Mike's has something for the sicko in all of us. A few of my personal favorites: "Barflies"; "Booby Trap"; "Home, Honey, I'm High (or The Donna Weed Show)"; "Jurassic Fart"; "Lloyd's Lunch Box 3" (an exciting segment on self-mutilation); and, yes, the original South Park episode "The Spirit of Christmas" in which Jesus and Santa duke it out for dibs on the holiday. But, by far, my favorite is "Dirty Birdy", which is about a deranged little bird that persistently moons the cat s/he has fallen in love with.

Those of you mainstream South Park fans (and I know there are plenty of you out there) who are tempted to go to the movie in order to see the pilot, you better prepare yourselves. Spike and Mike's is a full assault on your senses and stomach, so bring an open mind and a barf bag.
