Art & Techonology '97 - Beyond the Virtual Edge
October 21, 1997
WHERE: Orlando Museum of Art
On Halloween weekend, October 31 - November 2, 1997, the Orlando Museum of Art will be the place to celebrate cyberculture in a showcase of digital art, digital music, interactivity and performance art. Join us as we go beyond the virtual edge, and immerse yourself in the universe of emerging art and technology.
Innovative venues will include art installations, sculptures, tapestries, hands-on exhibits, multimedia storytellings, interactive experiences, music and dance, and live onsite and online collaboration. Works from local artists and students and contributors around the world will be showcased along with works by artists-in-residence at the recent Digital Atelier at
the National Museum of American Art. Online works from artists and musicians from Finland to Japan will be included in the extensive online collection, which will be accessible before, during and after the event. Live performance art will be broadcast online and those visiting the event in cyberspace will be able to contribute and participate, as well as view
the works of participating artists.
